Terms of Use

By creating an account, signing in, or otherwise using Ingenium you agree to these Terms. If you use Ingenium for a club, society, or campus group, you still bind yourself personally, and you confirm you have authority to post what you post.

The operator is the person or organisation running this service, as described in the Privacy Policy. We have not published a registered company number on this site. That does not stop these Terms from applying to use of the service.

By creating an Account, you affirm that you are at least 13 years of age. If you are between the ages of 13 and the legal age of majority in your jurisdiction (usually 18), you represent that your parent or legal guardian has reviewed and agreed to these Terms on your behalf.

You must not use Ingenium if you are under 13. We do not knowingly allow accounts for children under 13. Signup asks for your date of birth and checks age on the server before an account is created.

The service is built for students and people helping students collaborate. You must provide accurate school and profile information. Impersonating another student or a university is a breach of these Terms.

• One person per account. Do not share your password.
• You are responsible for activity on your account until you tell us it was compromised at support@ or through Contact.
• Usernames must follow the product rules (letters, numbers, underscores; no impersonation).
• Passwords must be at least 8 characters. Choose something that is not used elsewhere.
• We may require email confirmation. If we do, some features stay locked until you confirm.
• If you are signed out, use Forgot password on the sign-in form. If you are still locked out, write to support from an address we can match.

Ingenium lets students post projects, apply to projects, and work in a shared workspace (chat, tasks, whiteboard, progress, optional calls, and pitch files). Student accounts are free. Features can change, break, or be withdrawn.

We do not promise uptime, response times, or that a particular vendor (including video) will stay within quota. If a call vendor is over quota or misconfigured, calls may fail while the rest of the workspace still works.

Ingenium is not a party to your project, class, internship, job, or company. We do not employ your teammates. We do not grade your coursework. We do not hold money for teams.

Students retain full ownership of the project ideas, code, designs, and content (“User Generated Content”) they create and upload to Project Ingenium. By uploading content, you grant Project Ingenium a limited, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence solely to host, display, and transmit your content to facilitate team collaboration within your designated workspaces — including showing public postings and profiles on the board, showing workspace content to members, and allowing platform admins to review pitch materials when that feature is used.

You confirm that you have the right to post the User Generated Content, that it does not infringe someone else’s rights, and that it does not contain malware. You are responsible for coursework rules, embargoes, and confidentiality obligations at your school.

Public User Generated Content can be copied by other people and by search engines. Workspace content is visible to teammates (and admins for presentation review). Treat chat like a group that can screenshot.

Project Ingenium is an educational and project-building platform for students. We maintain a zero-tolerance policy for bullying, harassment, hate speech, explicit content, or unauthorized sharing of personal contact information (doxxing). We reserve the right to immediately terminate accounts and remove content that violates community safety standards without prior notice.

You must not:

• Harass, threaten, dox, or discriminate against other users.
• Post sexual content involving minors, or any content that is illegal in the UK or in your country.
• Spam, scrape the directory with bots in a way that overloads the service, or harvest emails.
• Upload malware, or attempt to probe, bypass, or break authentication, workspace membership, or file access.
• Share exam materials or other content you are not allowed to share.
• Use someone else’s work as your pitch or posting without permission and credit where required.
• Open or share a call room with the intent that strangers join a private interview (including circulating a guessable room link).
• Pretend to be Ingenium staff, a university official, or another student.
• Use the service to send unsolicited bulk messages.

Report safety issues to safety@project-ingenium.com or use Contact and choose the safety topic.

Project owners review applications and decide who to accept. Acceptance creates workspace access. Owners and members can use channel tools the product provides, including creating and deleting some channels.

We are not required to mediate fights about who owns a project name, a pitch, or leftover files. If you leave a team, the owner may keep workspace content you already posted, unless a separate agreement between you says otherwise. Deleting your account is described in the Privacy Policy and may not pull copies out of other people’s devices.

Invite links currently copy the workspace URL. They are not a tokenised guest pass. Do not treat a URL as a secret.

Video may run through Daily.co (embedded) or Jitsi at meet.jit.si (new tab). Those services have their own terms and privacy policies. When Jitsi is used, room names are derived from identifiers in the product and may be joinable by anyone who has the URL. Do not discuss highly sensitive personal data on a call you do not control.

Whiteboards use the Excalidraw library. Pitch files are stored with our storage provider. You must only upload files you have the right to share, in the allowed types and size limits shown in the product.

Profiles may show a badge and star rating derived from completed and active project counts. It is a crude signal, not a reference letter. We may change or remove the formula. Do not misrepresent completed work. Other students may rely on it at their own risk.

The Ingenium name, marks, site design, and software (excluding User Content and third-party libraries) belong to us or our licensors. You may not copy the product, scrape it to build a competing directory, or reuse our marks without permission, except for ordinary use of the service and except as allowed by mandatory law (including limited quotation or interoperability rights where those exist).

We may remove a posting, message, file, or account that we reasonably believe is spam, impersonation, harassment, illegal, or a security risk. We may suspend access while we look into a report.

You can stop using the service at any time. You can export or delete your account from profile settings when signed in. We may refuse a new account from a person we have banned.

Reports about a posting or a person: write to safety@project-ingenium.com and include the project title or URL. We do not promise a particular SLA. If you believe content infringes copyright, write to legal@project-ingenium.com with the work, the URL, and a statement that you are authorised to act.

Ingenium is provided “as is” and “as available.” To the fullest extent permitted by law we disclaim implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, quiet enjoyment, and non-infringement.

We do not warrant that teammates will finish the work, that a pitch will be accepted, that a call will connect, or that files will never be lost. Keep your own copies of anything that matters for a grade or a company.

Nothing in these Terms affects rights you have as a consumer that cannot be waived, including under UK consumer law if it applies to you.

We are not liable for disputes between teammates, lost coursework, lost business, lost data, or third-party call outages, except where the law says we cannot exclude that liability.

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or any other liability that cannot be limited by law.

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Project Ingenium provides the platform on an “AS IS” and “AS AVAILABLE” basis. Project Ingenium’s total liability for any claims related to the service is limited to $50 or the total amount paid by the user in the past six months, whichever is greater (currently $0 for student accounts).

Users under the age of 18 are not required to indemnify Project Ingenium for claims arising from simple negligence or standard platform use.

If you are 18 or older and you are using Ingenium other than as a consumer, you will indemnify us against claims, damages, and reasonable legal costs arising from your User Generated Content or your breach of these Terms. This does not apply to the extent a claim is caused by our own negligence or breach.

If you are a consumer, mandatory protections in your country of residence still apply, and you may bring proceedings in your local courts.

Otherwise these Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have non-exclusive jurisdiction.

We may update these Terms by posting a new version on this page with a new “Last updated” date. If you continue to use the service after the change, the new Terms apply. If you do not agree, stop using the service and request deletion through Contact.
